Jr. High Rite-13
Journey to AdulthoodThe Journey to Adulthood is an innovative and unique program for teenagers that is now used in Episcopal churches throughout the country. It is a complete youth ministry program of spiritual formation for children in grades 6-12.The first segment of the Journey to Adulthood program, Rite 13, began at St. Thomas in early 2006. In the fall of 2007, these youth have formed the next segment of the program, J2A, and a new group of students has formed a new Rite 13 Class. Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am (September through May). The group also meets socially each month. |
Rite 13 & J2A Classes this fallSt. Thomas' second Rite 13 community formed in early September for youth entering 6th and 7th grades. Many thanks to Don Fechter, Anne-Stuart Kirkhorn, Pam Sisney and Hester Sullivan, who have been discerned as advisers to lead the new group. Our current Rite 13 youth, who entered 8th and 9th grade this fall, advanced from Rite 13 to J2A, the next two-year phase of the Journey to Adulthood program, leading to Confirmation and a pilgrimage. Kristine Flerlage, Jeri Gatch, Paul Hoffer, Earl Moorhead and Dave Roberts are continuing with these youth as advisers. To sign up, contact the parish office at 831-2052. |
