Prayers & Prose: “Wisdom” Series
Tuesdays from 6 to 8pm in the Parlor
“It is most important of all to do everything we can to nurture our spiritual intelligence. It is our only genuine source of hope, direction, meaning and comfort.” (Foreword, The Wisdom Way of Knowing)
We will put aside what we think we know about Jesus and approach the Gospels as though for the first time, so we may see Jesus in a new way: as a teacher of the transformation of consciousness. Using Cynthia Bourgeault’s book The Wisdom Jesus as a masterful guide to Jesus’s vision and to the traditional contemplative practices, we will experience the heart of his teachings for ourselves. Our time together will begin with contemplative practices of chanting, movement and centering prayer to prepare our hearts and minds to see in new ways.
