Hope to Help

Bring the Season of Light and Hope to Thomaston Woods and Thomaston Meadows

At this time of year there are several ways you and your family can make a difference in the lives of the families and seniors we serve at Thomaston Woods and Thomaston Meadows with the Stockings & Bells Gift Program, as well as the St. Nicholas Project.

Each year, the St. Thomas parish family “adopts” the children, youth and seniors of housing communities to help with the spirit of Christmas in our Stockings & Bells Gift Program. This is an opportunity to help make Christmas special by providing a gift.

There is a special “Giving Tree” at the top of the stairs by the Parish hall decorated with paper stockings and bells. Each stocking has the name of a child or youth from Thomaston Woods and a gift item requested; each bell is for a senior. Each gift is a maximum of $25. This is a great way for your family to practice outreach and share in the spirit of giving and caring. Simply select a stocking and/or a bell from the tree, then write your name and contact info in the Gift Tree Log next to the corresponding recipient’s name (essential!), then have fun shopping and finally return the gift (already wrapped) with the stocking/bell attached to the church (in the Parlor) by December 15th.

The St. Nicholas Project Formerly known as St. Nicholas Basket Run. While the name and format have changed for this year, the needs have not – we know that together we will still make a significant difference in the lives of so many in need this holiday season and beyond!  St. Thomas will be providing each family with a $25 Kroger gift card in place of the basket of household and personal items. If you would like to donate to this ministry you may do so through our HOPE to HELP fund.  (See below for instructions.)

Christmas Caper This Saturday 12/11/21!

The St. Thomas Christmas Caper will be held on Saturday December 11th 11:00am – 1pm in the Parish Hall.  This year, with Covid – 19 safety protocols in place, St. Thomas will host a holiday cookie / candy sale open to the parish and community.  Having fun with family and friends while making holiday treats to donate to the St. Thomas Christmas Caper is a wonderful tradition and one many of us look forward to each season.   The monies we make from this year’s Caper will be donated to Inter Parish Ministry and the St. Thomas Discretionary Fund.  If you have questions or would like more information about the Christmas Caper, call or email Terri Moorhead @ 513-884-1339 / tc.moorhead@gmail.com
