Deeper Roots Coffee

Deeper RootsYou drink it by the cup, now buy it by the bag! Deeper Roots is committed to great coffee and meaningful ministry. It begins with their efforts to improve communities of small coffee farmers. By buying direct from these farmers, they invest more resources into communities sustained by coffee growing than fair trade coffees. They extend this passion for ministry by offering individual bags of coffee to churches at wholesale prices, so churches can sell it to support local ministries. Every bag of coffee you buy from St. Thomas contributes $2 towards scholarships for the St. Thomas PreSchool.Coffee can be purchased during the coffee hour on Sunday, or you can pick up a bag in the church kitchen. Regular and Decaf are available. It’s sold as whole bean, but we can grind it for you if you prefer ground. $10/bag Enjoy great coffee and support a great ministry! Thank you!

For the fourth year, the Thomaston Golf Classic is being held at the Golf Club at Stonelick Hills, located on U.S. Route 50 in Clermont County, less than 10 miles from Terrace Park, Ohio. It is one of the premier golf courses in Southwestern Ohio. The course quality and layout, facilities, and professional staff are second to none.

The foursome entry fee for this year’s event is $500 and the individual fee is $150 per person.

At the awards dinner, engraved crystal trophies are presented to each player in the three lowest scoring foursomes, as well as the lowest scoring ladies’ foursome.

This year’s event will have a similar format and contests as in previous years. And the Par 3 Shootout finals again will be from the 18th fairway to the 9th hole, affording everyone a front row seat from the clubhouse patio!

The Thomaston Golf Classic is the sole fund raising event for the Thomaston Woods Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition scholarships for the young motivated residents of the Thomaston Woods affordable townhouse complex in Clermont County. Thanks to your support, 25 scholarships have been granted to students attending UC Clermont and other area institutions. Let’s keep it going for 2013!

Spring is here, so get your foursome assembled and registered, using this registration form. And we’ll see you on Monday, May 20th.

Mountain T.O.P. Outreach Program

MtTopgreenpicThe St. Thomas Mountain T.O.P. Outreach Program is asking for your support of our two Youth Summer Ministry mission trips this summer. We are taking 36 youth and adults to the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. This year will be St. Thomas’s 33rd year of participating in this Ministry. We are asking for logistical support (gas, groceries, and tools) for these trips by purchasing gift cards for the above items through St. Thomas’s scrip program.

By buying gift cards for these needs, not only will you be helping the group, you will earn rebates that will go directly back to the St. Thomas Outreach program, and will get a credit for a charitable donation from St. Thomas.

The sign-up sheet and gift card order forms are on the bulletin board in the narthex. Please deposit your check and order form in the gift card order box also in the narthex.

Please prayerfully consider making a donation of one or more of the listed cards.

Orders can be turned in during the May or June ordering period. Make checks payable to “St. Thomas Church” and indicate Mountain T.O.P. on the memo line.
