The Rev. Dr. Daniel H. Grossoehme, BCC

Grossoehme photoDaniel is a Cincinnati native, and has worshipped at St. Thomas since he returned to Cincinnati in 2003. Dr Grossoehme serves at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he is Staff Chaplain III and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Research) and the Associate Director of the Pulmonary Outcomes Research Lab. Trained as an astrophysicist, he holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling, a Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research, and a Master’s in Divinity. He has 20 years’ clinical experience as a pediatric chaplain and is board certified.

He is a past president of the Assembly of Episcopal Healthcare Chaplains, former Regional Certification Chair (Association of Professional Chaplains) and is currently a board member of the Association of Professional Chaplains and chairs the Commission on Quality in Pastoral Services. He is the author of over twenty five scholarly journal articles as well as a book and three book chapters.  His research interests include psychosocial/spiritual factors relating to treatment adherence in pediatric chronic illness, especially cystic fibrosis, outcomes research and developing a research-informed base for clinical chaplaincy. Daniel is a violin and viola student and plays viola in the Xavier University Chamber Orchestra.
